On 7 October 2026 IMI announced an agreement to acquire iSMA CONTROLLI, a company that develops building automation systems. iSMA CONTROLLI will join IMI's Climate Control sector, home of IMI TA, IMI Heimeier and IMI Pneumatex.
What iSMA CONTROLLI brings
The company offers controllers, sensors and digital control platforms: an open, scalable building automation platform. According to IMI, combining them with its hydronic solutions (balancing, control, pressure maintenance, water quality) will help buildings use less energy and run at lower cost.
The deal in figures
- Enterprise value of €63m, paid in cash.
- iSMA CONTROLLI's revenue is expected to be about €40m for 2026.
- Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to approvals.
What it means for projects
IMI is targeting small and medium-sized commercial buildings in particular, where flexible systems that grow with the building are needed. Hydronics and automation from the same manufacturer mean simpler design and fewer compatibility issues.
